Description

Same map as the more land edition but with the countries pasted over and less filler nations.
Again, ignoring Europan countries because you can find the canon here: vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/v…

Countries currently featured:

Bullet; GreenThe Greater Commonwealth of Sweltsland
(Belongs to :iconthefailicus:)
Sweltsland is a very old nation, with Royalty that can be traced back for more than a thousand years. Originally a chaotic mess of feuding states, in response to powers from other shores, the Commonwealth was formed about 300 years ago. The member states of the commonwealth act mostly independently, and can cultures vary dramatically between states. The many varied cultures lead to a flourishing of the arts within the Commonwealth.  Despite being renowned by the world for its arts, The Greater Commonwealth of Sweltsland is almost entirely devoted to isolationism, eschewing World Government, it espouses self-sufficiency and pacifism through isolation. That said one attempt to attack any state within the Commonwealth, they would find themselves at war with the entirety.

Bullet; RedFederal Republic of Oepellia
(Belongs to :icontemporal-and-spacial:)
A nation of democracy and political neutrality. Oepellia has attempted to balance out the acts of Europan tradition and a progressive ideologies, leading to much gridlock among its federal republics.

Bullet; GreenSekbani Confederacy
(Belongs to :Afriend:) (Smile)
State Flag: fav.me/d9d46fm
The Sekbani Confederacy traces back to several semi-nomadic groups that formed sedentary living around the southern tip of Umbra where they discovered the vast wealth of fish in the area. Over time these people (known in Grebagh: the native Sekbani language as the T'ort'eyn) developed a vast sea culture that flourished for many generations and developed strong trade bonds with other peoples far and wide until the area had become overfished and a great famine fell across the land. In desperation some of the T'ort'eyn decided to attack some of the trade caravans that went through the area and doing so set the future of their people in piracy. The Confederacy currently hosts about 37 different peoples who all speak unique dialects of Grebagh, all of whom have been prone to vicious in-fighting and bids for power. Most ethinc groups in the Confederacy can be put into 4 larger cultural castes with the smaller groups only having moderate differences in dialect or culture. There are the Shvir who are the largest of the 4 and are known for their fanatical mariners, the Temni who are native to the more inland foot hills and are thus successfull goat breeders, and the Gor'fa who are the most diverse of the the larger castes and even make up a few ex-patriots from other civilizations. The Gor'fa usually are the people behind the tools of the S.C. and are known for making the best with scrap metal. Finally there are the Syenok who were once the most revered of the castes, they have now faced critisicm for their willingness to give up raiding altogether and are thus seen as radicals. What ultimately unites these peoples is a love of piracy (with perhaps some exception to the Syenok) and a need to please the gods; both of which have kept the Confederacy from completely dissolving. The future is unclear however as the Confederacy is faced with new technologies at the turn of the century and is forced into adapting whole new military systems which has created a higher skill level for ship usage and maintenance. This has surfaced the question: should they continue in the old ways or eke out a new identity in this new world?

Bullet; RedDantali Federation
(Belongs to :iconkenfkol:)

Bullet; GreenEmpire of Nan'Jan
Royal Flag: fav.me/d9d49nx
State Flag: fav.me/d9d46fm
The great empire in the far east, Nan'Jan has long been an enigma on the world stage. Although it does not follow the 'western' model of military and industry, Nan'Jan is advanced enough to be considered a 'western' nation. Nan'Jan's existence started about 1000 years ago, during the great turmoil of feuding noble states. Out of this conflict, two great Kingdoms of the east emerged. Nan, an economic powerhouse who's vast merchant navy brought wealth and technological advantages over their northern Rival, Jan. Jan in comparison to Nan was backwards, using their military might to bully rival states and claim territory. While Jan could easily crush Nan's diminutive army, her navy was more than outclassed by Nan. For nearly 200 years, the two kingdoms threatened to tear each other apart, much to the amusement of smaller states in the area but the region was shocked when the two Kingdoms merged in 946, officially forming the Kingdom (later Empire) of Nan'Jan. Nan'Jan promptly annexed the remaining state with cultural ties to them and set about expanding their influence.

Bullet; GreenKingdom of Boreala
Once part of the Aurorus Principalities, Boreala left the estranged union and immediately came under attack in 835. Under immense pressure, Boreala sought help from her southern neighbor, the Kingdom of Jan. Jan agreed to aid Boreala in exchange for future military aid. The resulting War of Borealous Independence gained the small kingdom far greater holdings, but after a few years of independence, was promptly vassalized by the much stronger Jan. Boreala would remain a vassal under her southern neighbor despite her compatible military power in 872 and almost revolted. However, the union of Nan and Jan put an end to any thoughts of revolting. With the union came a flood of wealth and technology into Boreala. Boreala renewed its terms of vassalage, going so far as to merge their royal blood with that of Nan'Jan's imperial family in 947. Boreala remains a strong vassal of Nan'Jan to this day.

Bullet; GreenAurorus Principalities
The Aurous Principalities are a conglomeration of warlord nations and city states bound only by culture and the need to fend off more unified rivals. In 442, the Kingdom of Yakihari pressed into Auror territory, cutting down the private armies and war bands with ease. The various Auror states were quick to realize that no one prince or chief could fend off this united enemy.  Although the princes, warlords and chiefs bickered and argued in the realm of politics, the united Auror armies easily out numbered their Yakihari enemies and beat them back. King Yong Min was killed in 448, shattering the Kingdom of Yakihari into a dozen feuding states. Since then, the Auror Principalities have barely managed to keep their estranged unity together, until the Boreala War of Independence.

Bullet; GreenKingdoms Yakihari
Once the most powerful Kingdom in the east, the first Yakihari Kingdom was formed under Long Min in 229. At the height of its power, Yakihari controled most of Nan'Jan's territory along with several key provinces that now belong to the Aurors. However, when the Aurors killed King Yong Min, it left the royal family in a state of flux. With no heir of his own, Yong's family destroyed itself and the great kingdom vying for the throne. This bloodshed was thought to be the warring states period in Nan'Jan's early history. East Yakihari was finally reunified in 1723 under Kim Su Sung who has made promises to restore both his family's and his nation's greatness. West Yakihari was united in 1599 by the Reed Dynasty on the baisis of fostering improved relations with other nations and building a new nation. Both states of Yakihari are not only a shadow of their former glory, but are now dwarfed by a collection of their former tribute states, Nan'Jan.

Bullet; GreenArunijon Sultanate
In an age of legends, after the Valkyur took Europa by storm, they set their sights on Umbra and the power that is told to lay in the fiery continent. However, they meet stiff resistance from the nomadic peoples of the North Umbrian deserts. Unlike the Darcsen, the nomads did not fight with fast armies or display feats of strength nor did they have the legendary Ragnite weapons of their foes. Instead, they conducted a brutal guerrilla war, striking from the sand at the most opportune moments and denying their enemy water. This war, while costly for the nomads, defeated the Valkur and forced them to abandon their expansion. This is the legend the Mehajid Family of Sultans claims to be their nation's heritage. Even if the legends are false, the Arunijon Sultanate is certainly a power today. Blessed with plentiful mineral deposits and metal veins, the Arunijon can easily manufacture arms and armor for their lightning fast armies. While the Sultanate does have a few Ragnite mines, most of their Ragnite comes from their smaller neighbor, the Dantali Federation.
